Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has promised to honor the deceased father of the MD, BIPC, late pa James Asemakaha Antor with a Community project in Vandeikya Local Government.Governor Alia who expressed concerns about the rising incidents of of insecurity in the state also called for unity to address the situation.
The late father of the Managing Director of Benue State Investment and Property Company Limited, pa James Asemakaha, was mourned by Governor Hyacinth Alia and other dignitaries at his burial ceremony in Mbaduku, Benue State.
Governor Alia was represented at the burial ceremony by the Secretary to Benue State Government, Deaconess Deborah Aber, held at Tse Antor, at Mbaduku in Vandeikya local Government area of Benue state on Saturday.
The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and other community leaders also paid glowing tribute to the late Asemakaha for his contributions to the development of Mbaduku Community and urged his son to sustain his legacy.
Chairman of Vandeikya local Government Council, Mr Dennis Guda, alleged that terrorists herdsmen were attempting to invade Kunav land but without success due to vigilance by stakeholders in the area.
The Chairman challenged youths in the area to collaborate and shun any financial inducement for the safety of the community, and commended Governor Alia for being alive to his responsibilities in the state.
The Monarch in charge of the intermediate area, Tor Jerchira, HRH Engr. Edward Ujege, promised to revive the Jerchira Cultural Day celebration in order to sustain the unity they are known for in the past.
