APC Clears Five Senatorial Aspirants in Nasarawa, Screens Out Seven Others
South, North and West Senatorial Hopefuls Receive Mixed Outcomes After APC Screening Exercise

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the list of screened and qualified aspirants for the forthcoming senatorial primaries in Nasarawa State, with five contenders successfully cleared to participate in the exercise across the three senatorial districts.
According to the screening report made available to journalists, Emmanuel Agbado and Abubakar H. Nalaraba were cleared to contest for the Nasarawa South Senatorial seat.
For Nasarawa West, Dr. Faisal Shuaib emerged as the only aspirant cleared by the party’s screening committee.
In the Nasarawa North Senatorial District, former Deputy Governor, Silas Ali Agara, alongside Audu Alhaji Sule, were also cleared to contest in the party primaries.
The report further revealed that seven aspirants were screened but listed among the unqualified candidates.
Those affected from Nasarawa South include Abdullahi Tanko Zubairu, Usman Muhammed Elegu, Alhaji Dr. Yusuf Moh’d Agabi and Ari Ali Muhammed.
Similarly, Victor Terhi Patrick, Ibrahim Bala and Prof. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, SAN, from Nasarawa West were also listed among the screened but unqualified aspirants.
The development has generated reactions among party supporters and political stakeholders across the state as consultations and alignments intensify ahead of the APC senatorial primaries.
Political observers believe the outcome of the screening process may shape the emerging power dynamics within the ruling party in Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
