The Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) has announced the commencement of the free enrollment of vulnerable residents into the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF), aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare services across the state.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Executive Secretary of the agency, the enrollment exercise will officially begin on Monday, June 29, 2026, in all 147 wards of Nasarawa State.

The agency explained that the programme is specifically designed for indigent persons, elderly citizens, children under the age of five, pregnant women, and persons living with disabilities as part of the government's commitment to improving healthcare delivery at the grassroots.

NASHIA stated that all prospective beneficiaries must present a valid National Identity Number (NIN) during registration, stressing that enrollment will not be processed without the identification requirement.
Eligible residents have therefore been advised to visit any BHCPF-accredited Primary Health Care (PHC) facility in their respective wards to complete the free enrollment process.

The agency urged members of the targeted groups to take advantage of the initiative to access quality and affordable healthcare services under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund.
