The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, OON, has called on women professionals to embrace lifelong learning, courage, and collaboration as essential tools for achieving long-term career success and overcoming professional barriers.

Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe made the call while addressing participants at a special Women’s Roundtable hosted by the bank at the Fidelity SME Hub in Gbagada, Lagos. The event, themed “Mentorship with Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe,” was part of the HerFidelity Proposition—a flagship initiative under the bank’s Recognition and Networking pillar, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and professionals across Nigeria.

Sharing insights on the vision of HerFidelity, she explained that the initiative goes beyond financial access by offering women holistic support to enable their full potential. “HerFidelity was created to bridge the gap in four key areas: access to capital, capacity building, wellness for work-life balance, and entrepreneurship support,” she said. “When women thrive, communities prosper and economies flourish.”

Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe emphasized the importance of mentorship, strategic networking, and resilience. “Believe in yourself, be willing to work hard, take smart risks, and seek out mentors,” she advised. “Collaboration is critical—no one truly succeeds alone.”

The interactive mentorship session, delivered in a Q&A format, provided a unique opportunity for attendees to learn directly from the renowned CEO, who shared personal career experiences and success strategies.

The event also featured fun competitions and giveaways, with participants winning exciting prizes courtesy of Fidelity Bank.

Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe’s impactful mentorship reinforced Fidelity Bank’s commitment to gender empowerment and its leadership role in supporting women’s advancement in business and leadership.
