Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, was represented by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. John D. W. Mamman, at the inauguration and handover ceremony of Prof. Mohamed Isa Kida as the 4th Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia).
The ceremony, which marked a significant milestone in the leadership transition of the institution, was held at the MIS Multipurpose Hall, Permanent Site Campus of the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Dr. Mamman conveyed the state government’s goodwill and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting higher education and institutional excellence.
He congratulated Prof. Kida on his appointment, expressing confidence in his capacity to advance academic standards, research, and administrative efficiency at the university.
The event attracted key stakeholders from the education sector, government officials, university management, academic staff, students, and other invited guests, all of whom witnessed the formal handover of responsibilities to the new Vice-Chancellor.
Prof. Kida, in his acceptance remarks, pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessors while steering the university towards greater innovation, global relevance, and community development.
