The Executive Chairman of Obi Local Government Council, Hon. Isa Mohammed Sani Keke, has relieved his Press Secretary, Hon. Isa’ac Musa Jatau, of his duties with immediate effect.
The decision was contained in an official press release issued on Thursday, November 13, 2025, and personally signed by the Executive Chairman.
The statement confirmed the sudden termination of the appointment of Jatau, popularly known in media circles as El-ZIk's Jatau. No reason was provided for the dismissal.
Hon. Keke, however, acknowledged the former aide’s contributions to the administration, expressing appreciation for his service. According to the release, the Chairman “thanks Mr. Jatau for his service and wishes him success in his future endeavours.”
The unexpected nature of the sack has triggered discussions within political circles in Obi Local Government and beyond. As the official in charge of public communication and media strategy for the council, Jatau played a central role in managing the Chairman’s public image and information dissemination.
Although the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media is reportedly acting in that capacity for now, no substantive replacement has been announced for the position of Press Secretary.
It is anticipated that Hon. Keke will soon appoint a new aide to fill the communication vacuum within his administration.
