The Nasarawa State Honorable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, today received the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of City FC Abuja, Chief Chidi Emmanuel Okonkwo, who paid him a courtesy visit ahead of the club’s opening fixture in the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
During the meeting at the Attorney General’s office in Lafia, Chief Okonkwo presented the club’s official replica jersey and a souvenir to Barr. Danladi.
He stated that the visit was meant to strengthen collaboration and to appreciate the Attorney General’s consistent support for youth development and sports advancement within the state.
Chief Okonkwo reiterated City FC Abuja’s resolve to build a highly competitive team committed to professionalism, talent development, and community engagement.
He emphasized that football remains a powerful tool for empowering young people and promoting unity.
In his response, Barr. Danladi expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture and commended the club’s leadership for its strategic vision and commitment to sporting excellence.
He noted that the growth of privately owned clubs like City FC Abuja plays a crucial role in expanding opportunities for young athletes and promoting socio-economic development.
City FC Abuja is set to commence their 2025 NNL campaign this weekend with a much-anticipated encounter against Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, scheduled to take place at the Lafia City Stadium.
