The Alumni Association of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has donated medical consumables valued at over ₦3.2 million to the institution’s medical centre, in a move aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery within the university community.
The donation was presented on Tuesday by the Alumni President, Barr. Nuhu John Egya, to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, during a courtesy visit to her office.
Speaking during the presentation, Barr. Egya explained that the donation represents part of the association’s ongoing commitment to give back to their alma mater and contribute to the well-being of students, staff, and the broader university community.
He further noted that the gesture marks the first phase of a series of planned interventions by the association, aimed at strengthening the partnership between the Alumni and the University.
Barr. Egya also appealed for continuous collaboration and blessings from the University management, expressing optimism that sustained partnerships would create more opportunities for members to excel in their various endeavours.
Receiving the donation, Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman commended the association’s thoughtful contribution and reaffirmed the University’s readiness to deepen its collaboration with the Alumni body.
“This gesture is commendable and reflects the renewed sense of purpose under the new leadership of the Alumni Association,” she remarked. “We assure you that the donated items will be properly utilised to benefit the entire university community.”
The Vice Chancellor further encouraged the Alumni Executive to establish a digital database of its members both within and outside the country to harness their collective expertise and resources for the advancement of the institution.
She also urged them to expedite the completion of the Alumni Secretariat project to enable effective coordination of activities.
It will be recalled that the current Alumni leadership, under Barr. Nuhu J. Egya, assumed office on June 4, 2025, with a pledge to reposition the association for greater impact—a promise already manifesting through initiatives such as this.
