As preparations heighten ahead of the 2027 general elections, a coalition under the banner of Christopher Gwabin Musa (CGM) Vanguard 2027 has endorsed former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), to vie for the Southern Kaduna Senatorial seat.
The group, which comprises men, women, and youths across the region, said its decision was driven by the retired general’s record of integrity, compassion, and visionary leadership.
In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Hon. Baba Ransome Adamu, the coalition described General Musa as “a man of peace, unity, and purpose”, whose tenure as Defence Chief brought “relative peace, enhanced professionalism, and renewed public trust in Nigeria’s security institutions.”
Adamu further lauded the retired general’s humility and accessibility, noting that despite his military background and achievements, he remains approachable and people-centered.
“For many in Southern Kaduna, his name symbolizes hope and reconciliation in a region long in need of unity and progress,” Adamu stated.
“As 2027 draws near, we need a leader who can unite, not divide , one who can speak with wisdom and conviction. General Musa represents these values.”
He emphasized that the call for Musa’s senatorial bid transcends politics, describing it as a continuation of his lifelong service to the nation. “He has already given Nigeria peace; now, we believe he can give his people effective representation,” he added.
The CGM Vanguard 2027 has since commenced grassroots mobilization across the senatorial zone, anchored on the theme: “From Peacekeeping to Nation Building — CGM 2027.”
