The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Keffi Branch has paid a courtesy visit to the Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Isaac Danladi, in his office, seeking collaboration and improved synergy between the Bar and the state’s Ministry of Justice.
Led by the branch chairman, Barr. Haruna Favour, the delegation presented their requests and shared ideas on strengthening the relationship between the legal association and the state government. Barr. Favour expressed appreciation to the Attorney General for granting the audience and acknowledged the pivotal role the Ministry of Justice plays in the legal ecosystem of the state.
He also reaffirmed the branch’s readiness to work closely with the Lafia branch to foster unity and collective progress across the legal community in Nasarawa State.
In his response, Barr. Isaac Danladi welcomed the delegation warmly but emphasized the need for better coordination and unity between the Keffi and Lafia branches of the NBA. He observed that the lack of collaboration in the past had created confusion in dealings with the government and hindered mutual benefits.
“The Lafia and Keffi branches should not be divided. You must operate with a spirit of mutual understanding and respect,” he advised, encouraging the branches to create a unified strategy when engaging government institutions. He noted that during past interactions, the Lafia branch benefitted from timely and organized submissions, which made it easier for the Ministry to process and support their requests.
He revealed that the Ministry had already initiated a memo to the state governor seeking financial assistance for the NBA’s upcoming national engagements and warned against a disjointed approach that could affect the outcome of such efforts.
“Our goal is to support the legal profession in the state, but we must also present ourselves as organized, strategic, and united,” he concluded.
The visit ended with a renewed commitment from both sides to foster collaboration, enhance legal practice in the state, and promote justice delivery through collective professionalism.
