Deputy Governor Akabe, Sen. Adamu, APC Chair, Ex-Speaker Balarabe, Lawmakers, Commissioners, and Political Heavyweights Grace Grand Wedding Ceremony in Nasarawa
Loko, the administrative headquarters of Loko Area Council in Nasarawa State, was a scene of celebration and high-profile presence on Saturday as dignitaries from across the country gathered to witness the wedding fatiha of Aisha Aliyu Tijani and Prince Shitu Abubakar, the Chigarin Loko.
Aisha is the daughter of Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Tijani, the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, while her groom, Prince Shitu Abubakar, is the son of His Royal Highness, Alh. Abubakar Ahmed Sabo, the Emir of Loko.
The wedding ceremony, held at the Loko Central Mosque, was officiated by the Chief Imam of the area, Mallam Abdullahi Abbas Ahmed Tijani, who solemnized the union after all Islamic rites were fulfilled — including the presentation of valid medical certificates and payment of ₦200,000 as bride price.
The event drew a massive crowd, with Loko bursting at the seams as well-wishers, traditional leaders, political figures, and community members joined in the joyous occasion. Among the prominent guests were the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe; former APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; Nasarawa State APC Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello; and immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi.
Also in attendance were serving and former members of the National and State Assemblies, the State Accountant General, Dr. Musa Ahmed Muhammad, Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen, party chieftains, and notable politicians from within and outside the state.
In messages delivered during the ceremony, guests emphasized the importance of marriage as a tool for unity and peace, urging the people of Nasarawa and beyond to use such occasions to strengthen social harmony and inter-ethnic relationships.
The atmosphere was further lifted by the presence of cultural entertainers and praise singers who added traditional flavor to the celebration.
