As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu prepares to visit Nasarawa State next week to commission key legacy projects, a prominent chieftain of the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) and former State Chairman, Hon. Francis Enokela Orogu, has publicly commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for what he described as the “transformative progress” witnessed across the State.
Hon. Orogu, who also served as a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, gave the commendation during a courtesy call on the Managing Director of the Nasarawa Urban Development Board (NUDB), Engr. Wada Yahaya Muhammad.
According to the former PDP Chairman, the infrastructural renewal and modernization efforts under the current administration are not only visible but worthy of recognition, noting that the projects scheduled for commissioning by President Tinubu are a testament to the Governor’s commitment to development.
“I must admit that Nasarawa State has witnessed tremendous improvement in infrastructure and urban development.
The ongoing projects, especially in the capital, are commendable and heartwarming,” Orogu stated.
He further praised the NUDB for its role in ensuring that quality work is delivered in line with professional standards, describing Engr. Wada Yahaya as a diligent and competent technocrat.
During the visit, Hon. Orogu also appealed to the State Government to consider naming the Lafia East Road in his honour as part of the ongoing street-naming initiative.
He cited precedents where other distinguished personalities, both living and deceased, have been similarly recognized.
In his response, Engr. Wada Yahaya Muhammad expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged Hon. Orogu’s contributions to the State’s political and democratic development.
He assured that Governor Sule’s administration remains committed to recognizing individuals who have positively impacted the growth and unity of the State.
Engr. Wada also disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit the State next week to commission a series of Governor Sule’s legacy projects, which he said have not only beautified the State capital but also enhanced mobility and public convenience.
