Law NYSC members serving at the Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice have expressed deep appreciation for the Ministry’s hospitality and enabling work environment.
Speaking on behalf of the corps members, Okereke Tobechukwu Ani, the NYSC spokesperson, lauded the Ministry for its warm reception, provision of accommodation, and the opportunity to contribute to justice delivery in the state.
“We are honoured to serve under this ministry and grateful for the cordial relationship and conducive environment we’ve enjoyed.
Nasarawa is a friendly state, and the ministry has shown great commitment to supporting corps members,” he stated.
Ani also praised the swift handling of criminal cases, citing the unprecedented speed in the ongoing case of State , where judgment is expected just months after its commencement. He described this as a testament to the Ministry’s dedication to effective justice delivery.
However, Ani noted some challenges faced by corps members, especially financial constraints affecting their participation in community development initiatives.
“We’re planning a prison decongestion project, but NYSC guidelines discourage us from using personal funds.
We appeal for modest support—even stipends as little as N5,000—to help us carry out our duties effectively, especially considering current economic hardships.”
In response, the Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi warmly received the corps members and assured them of the Ministry’s continuous support.
“I welcome you all and commend your commitment. I’ve always been youth-friendly and understand the importance of the NYSC, having served in Lagos myself in 1988,” Barr. Danladi said.
“There’s a new sheriff in town. I will ensure that corps members are fully engaged—whether in legal vetting, advice, or documentation, especially those preparing for their call to bar.”
The Commissioner emphasized the need for corps members to be proactive.
“Many corps members miss the opportunity to grow because they don’t show up. I never missed a day during my own service. You must make yourselves available to learn and gain experience.”
He concluded by reaffirming the Ministry’s readiness to create room for meaningful engagement and professional growth for all corps members under his watch.
