The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN),Niger State chapter has concluded plan to hold its election to elect new executives
This position was made known by the Union Chairman in the state Comrade Mahmud AL- Ameen Muye, at the Congress held at the High Court complex headquarters during the weekend.
He disclosed that the election into various offices to contest for is slated to 18th,July 2026 stating that forms will be on sale by next week.
According to the State chairman of the union, the delay in the conduct of the election was as a result of some hitches from the national Secretariat of the union in Abuja, assuring that the national Secretariat has already directed the State chapter to conduct the state election by July,18th 2026.
He explained that every member of the state chapter is eligible to contest for any office “ and as soon as the form is out the electoral committee will be put in place and sales of forms will commence”.
Comrade Mahmud Muye, told the Congress that the delay in the conduct of the state chapter election was not deliberate but was attributed to some bureaucracy within the national Secretariat of the union adding that the whole issue has been settled which informed the arrival of slating the date for the election.
He appealed to the Congress to conduct themselves with all the needed decorum expected of them as respected and law-abiding members of the union during and after the election.
Stressing the need for them to see themselves as one united family,Mahmud Muye assured that the election will be conducted in a peaceful atmosphere devoid of any unhealthy environment and rancour free elections will be conducted.
He noted that the election should not be seeing as “ a do or die affairs” urging them to guide against any act that will lead to the disqualification of aspirants by the electoral committee that will conduct the election under the supervision of the national Secretariat”
“ I want to passionately appeal to the Congress to avoid any act that will result in disqualification of aspirants. We should guide against using any abusive words during the election.
“ The election will come and go and we will still remain as one big family of the union. I don't see any reasons that the union's election will tear us apart.
I'm appealing to every one of us here to avoid anything that will create unnecessary enmity among us after the election. We should conduct ourselves with all the deserving respect and decorum” Comrade Mahmud urged.
While calling on interesting members that will indicate interest to contest for any elective position of the union, he directed that any aspirants wishing to contest any post should commence his or her campaigns in earnest.
