IPOB Hails New Directorate Over Washington Diplomatic Engagement, Says Biafra Campaign Gains Momentum
Group says U.S. presentation boosts international advocacy, urges members to remain united behind self-determination campaign.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has hailed its newly inaugurated 4th Directorate of State (DOS) for what it described as a major diplomatic milestone following its participation in the Civil Society Presentation of the Cole-Moore Recommendations in Washington, D.C., United States.
In a statement signed by the group's spokesperson and Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB commended the leadership of the 4th Directorate of State, headed by Mazi Chris Nwaọgụ, for strengthening the movement's international engagement and advancing its campaign for Biafra's self-determination.
According to the statement, the delegation to the Washington event included the Head of the 4th Directorate of State, Mazi Chris Nwaọgụ, IPOB's United States Diplomatic Representative, Mike Arnold, Dr. Green, and other officials of the organisation based in the United States.
The group said the event provided a platform to present what it described as the humanitarian, security and human rights challenges affecting people in Nigeria before an audience comprising policymakers, civil society organisations, congressional stakeholders and other influential participants.
IPOB maintained that Nigeria's challenges are structural, arguing that self-determination remains the most peaceful and democratic solution to the country's recurring political, security and ethnic crises.
Describing the Washington engagement as a significant achievement, the organisation said the participation signalled renewed momentum in its international advocacy efforts and marked a new phase in its diplomatic campaign under the leadership structure inaugurated by its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The group further stated that the engagement demonstrated the capacity of the new Directorate of State to pursue one of its core mandates of expanding international awareness of the Biafra cause while promoting unity among members across the world.
IPOB also acknowledged the contributions of its supporters in the United States and across the diaspora, saying their sustained commitment and advocacy have continued to strengthen the movement's activities.
The organisation called on its members worldwide to remain united and support the current leadership, expressing confidence that its diplomatic engagements would continue to attract international attention in pursuit of its self-determination campaign.
