Nasarawa to Stage 15,000-Man Mega Rally for Tinubu, Sule on Feb. 12
SGS Magaji says rally is grassroots-driven show of appreciation for Renewed Hope reforms
Nasarawa State will on Thursday, February 12 host a 15,000-man mega rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule, the state government has announced.
The disclosure was made at a press briefing in Lafia by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, SAN, PhD, at his office along Shemdam Road.
Magaji, who also serves as the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, said the rally is intended to appreciate the performance of President Tinubu and Governor Sule, particularly the far-reaching reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to him, the event is not a rumour but a well-coordinated mobilisation effort, stressing the central role of the media in ensuring transparency and accurate public information.
He cited key federal reforms including the removal of fuel subsidy, introduction of student loan schemes, and other social interventions, alongside expanding infrastructure across sectors, as reasons citizens of Nasarawa should “come together to say thank you.”
Magaji also commended Governor Sule’s leadership and alignment with the federal reform agenda, describing both leaders as “gems” whose policies are yielding benefits for the state and the nation.
Grassroots Mobilisation Across 147 Wards.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, said participation would cut across all 147 wards in the state.
Maifata explained that the rally is not state-funded, but driven by voluntary contributions from citizens, especially at the grassroots.
“Our people are eager. From the wards to the state level, they are contributing and mobilising because they feel the impact of the administration’s achievements,” he said, adding that beneficiaries of policies at federal, state and local levels would turn out en masse.
NUJ Pledges Media Support
In his remarks, NUJ Chairman, Nasarawa State Council, Comrade Salihu Alkali, lauded the state government for maintaining cordial relations with the media and for infrastructural support to the NUJ Secretariat, which he described as among the best in the country.
He assured continued professional collaboration in the public interest, noting that the media would remain a partner in promoting peace, accountability and development in the state.
