Hon. Bashir Aliyu Builds and Names Mosque After Father, Late Aliyu Mustafa
The headquarters of Lafia North Development Area, Shabu, was filled to capacity as members of the Muslim Ummah from across Nasarawa State and beyond converged on the ancient city of Gwandara for the commissioning of the Aliyu Mustafa Mosque.
The newly constructed mosque, built and donated by Hon. Bashir Aliyu, was named in honour of his late father, Aliyu Mustafa, as a tribute to his legacy and contributions to the community.
The colourful ceremony attracted a large turnout of friends, well-wishers, Islamic scholars, community leaders, and traditional rulers who gathered to witness the historic event.
In his remarks, Hon. Bashir Aliyu stated that the mosque was built as a symbol of gratitude to Allah and as a lasting legacy in memory of his father.
He emphasized the importance of unity, faith, and community development, noting that places of worship play a critical role in moral and spiritual guidance.
Prominent Islamic clerics offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the late Aliyu Mustafa and commended Hon. Bashir Aliyu for the noble gesture.
They described the mosque as a significant addition to religious infrastructure in the area.
Traditional rulers present at the event applauded the initiative, describing it as a project that will strengthen spiritual growth and social cohesion within the community.
The commissioning ceremony concluded with special prayers for peace, unity, and continued development in Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.
