The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has appointed Corps Commander Kehinde Dahunsi as the new Sector Commander for Benue State.
A statement issued on Thursday in Makurdi by the Public Relations Officer of the Benue Sector Command, SRC Ngozi Ahula, confirmed that Dahunsi takes over from CC Steve Ayodele, who recently retired in line with the Corps’ administrative posting procedures.
The formal handover ceremony was held on Monday at the Sector Command Headquarters in Makurdi.
Shortly after assuming office, Dahunsi expressed gratitude to the Corps Marshal for what he described as a significant vote of confidence.
He pledged to prioritise enhanced operational efficiency, strengthen stakeholder collaboration, and intensify public enlightenment campaigns on road safety across the state.
Ahula noted that the new sector commander reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to continuous sensitisation on safe road use, strict enforcement of traffic regulations, and sustained efforts to reduce road crashes in Benue.
She added that the outgoing commander, Ayodele, appreciated officers, Special Marshals, stakeholders, and the public for their support during his tenure and urged them to extend the same cooperation to his successor.
The FRSC called on transport unions, sister security agencies, the media, and the public to support Dahunsi in promoting safer road practices across Benue State.
