Federal lawmaker representing Awe, Doma, and Keana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abubakar Hassan Na-Laraba, has described the growing agitation for zoning in politics as a product of perceived injustice.
In a statement that went viral on social media, the lawmaker explained that zoning controversies often arise when fairness is lacking in the distribution of projects and development initiatives.
According to him, “It is injustice that brings about zoning agitation in politics. But when every zone is treated fairly and projects are evenly distributed, there will be no need for zoning complaints.”
Hon. Na-Laraba further advised public officeholders to ensure equitable development across all local governments within their constituencies.
He added that, “Whatever project you are doing in your area, extend it to other local governments. And if you cannot do that, go and do it at your state capital.”
