The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), during its 60th anniversary celebration, honoured outstanding individuals for their roles in promoting sports development and excellence in governance.
The colourful event, held in Abuja, brought together dignitaries from the public and private sectors, including sports administrators and media professionals.
Among the award recipients was the Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, who received a National Recognition Award for his exceptional contributions to youth and sports development.
In his acceptance speech, Barr. Danladi expressed deep gratitude to God and dedicated the honour to his principal and mentor, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, acknowledging the Governor’s confidence in his leadership capacity.
“To the glory of God, I dedicate this award to my principal, boss, and mentor , His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi Sule ,for giving me the platform that made it possible for me to stand before you today for this national recognition,” he stated.
Reflecting on his journey in public service, Barr. Danladi recalled the several opportunities granted to him by Governor Sule, from his appointment as Chairman of Nasarawa United Football Club, to Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and now as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
