Governor Alia Swears in 17 Commissioners, Expresses Confidence in Deputy

Benue State Governor in North Central Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has inaugurated 17 newly appointed Commissioners with a call for loyalty, accountability, and Community engagement. 

The ceremony took place at the Old Banquet Hall of Government House in Makurdi and was attended by various dignitaries.

Governor Alia emphasized the importance of the commissioners in advancing the state's development agenda, urging them to uphold transparency and governance principles. 

He stressed the need for their close ties to local communities and highlighted the expectations placed on them.

The governor reiterated his commitment to a people-centered administration, focused on improving the lives of citizens. 

He dismissed rumors of replacing his Deputy Governor, Dr. Sam Ode, Mni, and expressed his confidence in him as a reliable partner in governance.

Speaking on behalf of the new commissioners, Hon. Dennis Iyaighgba expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged to work with dedication and integrity. 

He said the new appointees were prepared to deliver tangible results that benefit the people of Benue State.

The newly appointed Commissioners include Dr. Yanmar Ortese, Dr. Fredrick Ikyaan, Michael Oglegba, Tiza Isaac Imojime, Alumo Orpin, Ugwu Odoh, Kunde Aondowase, Kwaghgba Amande and Joseph Ter Jir.

Others are James Dwem, Dr. Ornguga Yangien, Theresa Odachi Ikwue, Dr. Benjamin Ashaver, Dr. Adamu Margaret Ijaguwa, Dr. Peter Oboh Egbodo as well as Dennis Iyaighgba, and Dr. Paul Ejeh Ogwuche.
