The Programme Manager of the Nasarawa Agricultural Development Programme (NADP), Umar Jibrin Nuhu, has commended the growing collaboration between non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and government agencies in Nasarawa State, describing the partnerships as pivotal to the advancement of agriculture and rural livelihoods.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Nasarawa NGOs Network (NANGONET) held at the Ministry of Women Affairs boardroom in Lafia, the NADP boss emphasized the critical role NGOs play in empowering communities through skill acquisition and the domestication of modern agricultural technologies.

"I overheard my colleague from the Ministry of Health highlighting their synergy with NGOs, and I must say, the agricultural sector has also benefited immensely," Nuhu stated.

"Through organizations like Sasakawa Africa Association and WOFAN, we’ve witnessed significant improvements in agricultural productivity, household income, and the general wellbeing of our farmers."

Nuhu noted that the NADP, as the extension arm of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Agriculture, has continued to leverage these partnerships to deliver impactful development programs across rural communities.

He further described NANGONET as a timely and strategic platform that will serve as a critical bridge between the government and development partners.

"With NANGONET in place, we now have a coordinating structure that will strengthen the sustainability of interventions coming into the state," he said.

While applauding the organizers and partners of the NANGONET inauguration, Umar Jibrin Nuhu expressed optimism that the network will deepen grassroots impact and foster greater alignment in the delivery of development projects.

He concluded by wishing all participants fruitful deliberations and safe travels back to their destinations.
