Lafia Comes Alive as Maifata Gives Out Two Daughters in Grand Wedding Ceremony

Dignitaries, Traditional Rulers, Political Class Storm Nasarawa Capital in Show of Solidarity

The Nasarawa State capital was thrown into joyful celebration over the weekend as Hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata, the immediate past National President of ALGON and current Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, gave out his two daughters in a colourful wedding ceremony that attracted dignitaries from across the state and beyond.
The wedding fatiha, held at the Central Mosque in Lafia on Saturday, was a convergence point for top government functionaries, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, legal luminaries, and well-wishers from within and outside Nasarawa State.
Leading the entourage of high-profile guests was the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, who was joined by Hon. Abubakar Nalaraba, Member representing Doma, Awe, and Keana Federal Constituency, and Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, immediate past Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
Also in attendance were Hon. Mohammed Adamu Omadefu, Member representing Keana Constituency, State APC Secretary Yarus Dagusa, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Hassan Liman (SAN), traditional rulers, commissioners, special advisers, local government chairmen led by the State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Safiyanu Isa Ndaha, as well as a host of political and business elites.
The solemn Islamic rites were conducted by the Deputy Chief Imam of Lafia, Malam Abdullahi Limamin Gabas, who joined the couples, Fatima to Yusuf and Adama to Mikaila, in holy matrimony with a bride price of ₦200,000 each.

He offered prayers for peace, harmony, and sustainability in all marriages and urged the couples to build their homes on mutual respect and understanding, cautioning against third-party interference.
The cleric also seized the moment to pray for continued peace and development in Nasarawa State and Nigeria, urging the citizenry to pray for leaders as they strive to deliver democratic dividends.

The wedding ceremony was rich in colour and tradition. Cultural troupes, praise singers, and dancers added glamour to the event as guests were treated to vibrant performances and lively hospitality.
The overflow of guests and the celebratory atmosphere in and around the mosque underscored the popularity and wide-reaching goodwill of Hon. Maifata, whose friends, colleagues, and political allies came out in numbers to honour him on the joyous occasion.

Indeed, Lafia wore a festive look as it hosted personalities from all walks of life in what many described as one of the most prestigious social events of the year in the state.
