The Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria is the first indigenous Agency to developed locally made drone as it conduct test run the innovation at the wkend which is marked a major milestone in its innovation drive with a successful test-run of drone technology developed by its Engineers
The team of Engineers demonstration, held of the Institute's centre of Transport Technically indeed showcased the potential of drone systems towards revolutionizing Nigeria’s transport and logistics sector of the nation’s economy.
Speaking at the event ,Director-General of the institute, Dr Bayero Salih Farah expressed satisfaction with the performance of the drones, describing the exercise as a significant step toward advancing indigenous technology in the transportation industry.
This is contained in a statement by the Institute's spokesman, Mr John Kolawole which is made available to Journalists in Zaria at the wkend.
“This is just the beginning. We look forward to NITT championing the course of the deployment of drone technology into the national transport system,” Dr. Farah stated.
"He reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to fostering innovation, noting that, “What moves the world forward is technology, and we should be able to use our own engineers to innovate.”
"Earlier, the Director of the Transport Technology Centre (TTC), Dr. Joshua Odeleye, highlighted the strategic relevance of drone technology to modern transport systems.
"He noted that drones have the potential to improve logistics efficiency, monitor emissions, and support safer, smarter mobility solutions.
"He said the exercise was part of NITT’s broader commitment to advancing research and technological innovation in Nigeria’s transport sector." The Statement said.
