The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that airstrikes carried out by the air component of Operation Fansan Yamma have killed scores of terrorists and thwarted fresh attacks on communities in Niger State.

In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was described as a series of coordinated precision air interdictions conducted between June 24 and 26, 2025, in support of ground forces.

Ejodame said the air component, working in conjunction with Operation Fansan Yamma’s Sector 1, targeted terrorists responsible for recent violent attacks in the state.

“On 26 June, following credible intelligence and close inter-service and inter-agency collaboration, the NAF identified terrorist activities involving coordinated attacks and cattle rustling in the Kakihun and Kumbashi communities,” the statement read.

Responding swiftly, NAF deployed multiple air assets and executed waves of precision strikes that neutralised scores of terrorists, destroyed their logistical networks, and disrupted plans for further regrouping.

Ejodame noted that the success of the operation underscores the NAF’s professionalism, rapid response capability, and effective coordination with ground troops and security agencies.

He reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians and contributing to efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace across the country.
