In a bold move that signals the beginning of political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, retired Army General and former General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Jos, Gen. Nuhu Angbazo, has formally declared his intention to contest for the office of Governor of Nasarawa State.
Gen. Angbazo made the declaration on Sunday, 25th May 2025, during a crucial stakeholders meeting held at the palace of the District Head of Wakama, Adams Maka Nangba, in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
The meeting, which drew political stakeholders across party lines, traditional leaders, youth, and women groups, culminated in a unanimous endorsement of Angbazo’s gubernatorial aspiration. Speakers at the event described the retired General as a man of discipline, integrity, and competence, whose leadership pedigree is needed to reposition Nasarawa State.
The stakeholders offered prayers and blessings for his success, pledging grassroots mobilization and unwavering support towards actualizing his ambition.
Gen. Angbazo, in his remarks, thanked the community for their show of solidarity, assuring them of purposeful leadership anchored on security, unity, and inclusive development if given the mandate in 2027.
