The Nasarawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Yahya Alhassan on his emergence as the new President of the NUJ, alongside other officials elected during the recently concluded polls.
In a statement signed by Sunday John, Secretary of the Nasarawa State NUJ, the council commended the commitment and confidence displayed by members of the union in electing Yahya Alhassan and his team to steer the affairs of the union.
The statement emphasized the council’s readiness to collaborate with the new leadership to advance the welfare of journalists, uphold press freedom, and foster the ethics and integrity of the journalism profession.
“We recognize the enormous responsibility entrusted to the new leadership and assure them of our unwavering support in achieving the union's goals. We are optimistic that under their guidance, the NUJ will surmount challenges and continue to thrive,” the statement read.
The council also expressed appreciation to the outgoing NUJ President, Mr. Chris Isiguzo, and his team for their exemplary service during their two-term tenure, wishing them success in their future endeavors.
The Nasarawa NUJ pledged to remain committed to the progress of the union while fostering a conducive environment for journalism to flourish.
