Today, the 10th Rivers State House of Assembly convened at the Governor's House in Port Harcourt, with Speaker Rt Hon Victor Oko-Jumbo presiding over proceedings.

The focus of the day's session was centered on the screening and subsequent confirmation of Commissioner designate, Mr. Dagogo I. Iboroma, SAN.

Following the successful screening process, Speaker Oko-Jumbo instructed the Clerk to communicate Mr. Iboroma's confirmation to Governor Siminialayi Fubara for further directives.

The Assembly's proceedings were conducted in the Auditorium, which has been temporarily adopted as the legislative chamber due to an explosion that affected the Assembly's permanent site and ongoing renovation works, as per the Governor's Gazette on relocation.

Stephen Banigo, Special Assistant on Media to the Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, issued this update on Monday, May 13th, 2024.
