President Bola Tinubu has called for enhanced synergy and coordinated actions to tackle economic challenges facing African nations.
This appeal was made during the presentation of Letters of Credence by newly-appointed ambassadors to Nigeria at the State House on Friday.
The ambassadors presenting their credentials included Edouard Nduwimana of Burundi, Mersole Mellejor of the Philippines, and Isaac Parashina, the High Commissioner of Kenya.
President Tinubu emphasized the importance of strong bilateral relations and collaborative efforts in his meetings with each ambassador.
Highlighting Nigeria's ongoing initiatives, he encouraged increased economic cooperation and investment, particularly in the natural gas sector with the Philippines and the solid minerals sector with Burundi.
Addressing recent floods in East Africa, President Tinubu extended condolences and stressed the urgent need for unified action among African leaders to tackle environmental and climate challenges. He reiterated the importance of leveraging mutual strengths for the continent's development across various sectors, including counter-terrorism, peace, and security with Kenya.
The ambassadors acknowledged Nigeria's pivotal role in Africa and expressed a keen interest in deepening economic ties and exploring new opportunities for cooperation.
