NSUK Alumni Unveils N250m 400-Bed Female Hostel at Abuja Reunion Dinner
…Association Honours 36 Distinguished Alumni, Pledges Expanded Development Drive

The Nasarawa State University, Keffi Alumni Association has announced plans to construct a 400-bed female hostel valued at over N250 million, as part of efforts to address accommodation challenges at the institution.
The project was unveiled by the Association’s President, Barr. Nuhu J. Egya, during the maiden Reunion Dinner and Award Night held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
Egya explained that the proposed facility, when completed at the NSUK main campus in Keffi, is designed to ease the acute shortage of female student accommodation while also serving as a sustainable revenue-generating asset for the Association.
He appealed to members of the alumni community across Nigeria and in the diaspora to support the initiative financially, describing it as a legacy project of his administration.
“This project will stand as a legacy of this administration and a testament to what we can achieve together. I appeal to all alumni, home and abroad, to contribute generously towards its full realization,” he said.
The President also highlighted achievements recorded within one year in office, commending members for their support and urging greater commitment toward institutional development goals.
The event, described as a night of reunion, networking, and celebration, attracted prominent alumni, stakeholders, and dignitaries from across the country.
A major highlight of the evening was the presentation of Distinguished Excellence Awards to 36 individuals in recognition of their contributions to society and the
university’s growth.
Among the awardees were the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule; the founder of the university, Abdullahi Adamu; and the Vice Chancellor of NSUK, Sa’adatu Hassan Liman.
Others honoured included the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Shuaibu Labaran Magaji; Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Dr. Pius Ukeyima; Protocol Liaison Officer to the President, Amb. Yakubu Musa; and Chief of Protocol to the First Lady, Amb. Henry Omaku, among others.
Speaking at the event, guest speakers commended the alumni body for its developmental strides and reaffirmed support for the university’s pursuit of academic excellence.
They also dismissed what they described as “recent social media propaganda” aimed at undermining confidence in NSUK postgraduate programmes.
The evening climaxed with a poolside after-party, where alumni members continued celebrations into the early hours of Sunday, engaging in music, networking, and renewed bonding.
The Alumni Association reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties among graduates while contributing meaningfully to the development of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
