The Nasarawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027, while reaffirming its commitment to transparent and credible primary elections ahead of the general polls.

Addressing journalists at a press conference, the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Aliyu Bello, said the APC has put in place a comprehensive framework to ensure that its forthcoming primaries are free, fair, and conducted in strict compliance with the Electoral Act and party guidelines.

He noted that all activities leading to the primaries have been carefully scheduled to guarantee inclusiveness, equity, and stakeholder participation, thereby strengthening confidence in the process.

Endorsement of Tinubu
Hon. Bello commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as bold and transformative leadership, despite prevailing global economic challenges.

According to him, the President’s reforms in key sectors, including the economy, infrastructure, and national security, have laid a solid foundation for sustainable growth and national development.

“In recognition of these achievements, the APC in Nasarawa State hereby endorses President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027 to consolidate on the gains already recorded,” he stated.

Confidence in Sule’s Leadership
The party also passed a vote of confidence on Governor Abdullahi Sule, praising his administration for significant strides in infrastructure, economic expansion, and governance.

Hon. Bello said the governor’s leadership has strengthened party unity and inspired confidence among citizens across the state.

Wadada Named Preferred Aspirant
On the 2027 governorship race, the APC acknowledged the emergence of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the preferred aspirant of Governor Sule.

The party described the development as a product of extensive consultations and a strategic move aimed at ensuring continuity and stability in governance.

Commitment to Internal Democracy
Despite aligning with the governor’s position, the party leadership emphasized its commitment to internal democracy, assuring that all aspirants will be given a level playing field.

Hon. Bello stressed that no aspirant would be disadvantaged, adding that the primaries would be conducted in a transparent and credible manner.

Call for Unity
The APC chairman urged party members and stakeholders to remain united and conduct themselves responsibly throughout the political process.

He emphasized the need for dialogue, mutual respect, and strict adherence to party rules, noting that unity remains key to electoral success in 2027.

The press conference concluded with appreciation to the media for its role in promoting democratic governance and keeping the public informed.
