In response to recent misleading narratives circulating on social media, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a clarification regarding the scope of its student loan program.
Contrary to claims that the program is exclusive to federal institutions, NELFUND has affirmed that state institutions are also included in the initiative.
The management of NELFUND emphasized that the student loan program is being rolled out in phases to ensure effective and efficient management.
The initial phase will prioritize students attending federal institutions. However, the subsequent phase, set to launch shortly after, will extend the program's benefits to students at state institutions.
Nasir Ayitogo, Media and Public Relations Lead at NELFUND, reiterated the organization's commitment to providing financial support to all eligible students.
This aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to ensure that all aspiring students have access to the necessary financial resources to achieve their educational goals.
