Residents of Sabon Gari Shinge, located opposite the Lafia Abattoir, are urgently seeking government intervention as severe erosion threatens their homes and the local graveyard.

The erosion, reportedly exacerbated by recent road construction by Taractor Construction Firm, has channeled water through the graveyard, causing significant damage.

Our correspondent reports that during heavy rains, water runoff from the construction site floods the area, leading to soil erosion that has destabilized the foundations of many homes.

Some houses are now on the brink of collapse, endangering the lives and properties of residents.

More disturbingly, the erosion has also disrupted graves, with reports of coffins and remains being exposed and washed out during heavy rains.

This has caused immense distress to the community, who are now appealing for immediate action.

Residents are calling on the government and relevant authorities to address this pressing issue by implementing proper drainage systems and erosion control measures.

Swift intervention is crucial to prevent further destruction and to protect the sanctity of the graveyard.

The community hopes that their plea will be heard and that necessary steps will be taken to restore safety and peace to Sabon Gari Shinge.
