Kashim Tumsah Urges Supporters to Remain Calm Amid APC Yobe Governorship Dispute

Former APC governorship aspirant in Yobe State, Kashim Musa Tumsah,
MFR, has appealed to his supporters and sympathizers to remain peaceful, patient, and law-abiding as efforts continue to resolve issues surrounding the party's 2027 governorship ticket.
In a statement titled "Release to My Dear Loyal Supporters and Sympathizers," dated July 12, 2026, Tumsah expressed appreciation for the unwavering support shown by his followers, particularly in the wake of developments surrounding the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Yobe State.
He recalled that after what he described as his "unjust disqualification" from the APC governorship primaries, he had urged his supporters to remain calm to avoid creating division within the party or jeopardizing its chances in the forthcoming general elections.
While acknowledging the frustration and disappointment among his supporters, Tumsah said he remains optimistic that an amicable and just resolution to the matter would soon be reached.
He disclosed that consultations, discussions, and negotiations with relevant stakeholders are ongoing, expressing confidence that the process would produce a fair and acceptable outcome.
"I once again urge all my supporters and sympathizers to continue exercising restraint, patience, and peace as we engage in ongoing stakeholders' consultations, discussions, and negotiations," he stated.
The former aspirant further appealed to his supporters to refrain from making inflammatory statements or taking actions capable of escalating political tensions or undermining the unity and electoral prospects of the APC in Yobe State.
Tumsah reaffirmed his commitment to the peace, progress, and development of Yobe State and Nigeria, expressing confidence that the right decision would ultimately be taken in the overall interest of the state.
He concluded the statement with prayers for divine guidance, saying, "May Allah (SWT) guide us all to do what is right and just."
