The Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN), Nasarawa State Chapter, has joined Nigerians in celebrating the 2026 Democracy Day, reaffirming its commitment to upholding the Constitution, promoting access to justice, and ensuring adherence to the rule of law in governance.

In a press release issued in Lafia on Friday and signed by its Chairman, Umaru Raymond Anzaku, the association described June 12 as a symbol of the Nigerian people's determination to uphold the principles of justice, accountability, and democratic governance.

The association stated that as law officers serving the Nasarawa State Government, members remain committed to defending constitutional democracy and ensuring that government activities are conducted within the framework of the law.
LOAN noted that this year's Democracy Day celebration comes at a period when Nigeria is facing various economic and social challenges, stressing the need for citizens and institutions to work collectively towards strengthening democratic structures and safeguarding judicial independence.

According to the association, legal practitioners and citizens have a shared responsibility to promote transparency in public service, uphold fundamental rights, and ensure respect for legal processes across all levels of government.

The association also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Isaac Danladi, for their continued support to the legal community in Nasarawa State and for policies aimed at promoting good governance and the rule of law.

LOAN further called on Nigerians to renew their commitment to peace, unity, and democratic values, emphasizing that democracy can only flourish where citizens and government institutions respect the supremacy of the law.
The association congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day and urged all stakeholders to continue supporting efforts geared towards building a more just, peaceful, and prosperous nation.
