DUFUTH to Mark Fourth Anniversary with Free Medical Outreach, Book Launch, Project Groundbreaking

The David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital (DUFUTH), Uburu, Ebonyi State, will on June 23, 2026 celebrate its fourth anniversary with a series of activities aimed at showcasing the institution's growth, achievements and commitment to quality healthcare delivery.
According to the hospital's management, the anniversary celebration, scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m at the DUFUTH Auditorium, will feature free medical tests and sensitisation outreach, a thanksgiving Mass, groundbreaking ceremonies for new projects, and a book launch.
The hospital described the anniversary as a celebration of "four years of faith, growth and impact," highlighting its contributions to healthcare, medical education and community service since its establishment.
The theme of the celebration is "Faith Inspires, Purpose Drives, Healing Transforms," reflecting the institution's vision of delivering quality healthcare while advancing teaching, research and public health services.
The Chief Medical Director of DUFUTH, Prof. (Mrs.) Uzoma Maryrose Agwu, said the event would provide an opportunity to reflect on the hospital's journey and appreciate God's faithfulness in its remarkable growth over the past four years.
She noted that the anniversary would also celebrate the impact the hospital continues to make in healthcare delivery, teaching and community service, while reaffirming its commitment to building a healthier future.
The Board Chairman of DUFUTH, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, will serve as the Chief Host of the event.
The Chairman of the Committee of Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors of Federal Tertiary Hospitals, Prof. Saad Ahmed, is expected to chair the occasion.
The programme of events will begin with sensitisation outreach and free medical tests, followed by a Holy Mass at 9:00 a.m., groundbreaking ceremonies for selected projects, and the official launch of a book before the anniversary celebration.
The management of the hospital has invited stakeholders in the health sector, government officials, development partners, members of the academic community and the general public to participate in the event.
The hospital stated that the anniversary would not only celebrate its achievements but also strengthen partnerships towards expanding access to quality healthcare services across Ebonyi State and beyond.
DUFUTH appreciated staff, patients and partners for their support over the past four years, affirming its resolve to continue building a healthier future through excellence in healthcare, teaching and community service.
