Yobe APC Youth Stakeholders Warn Against Aspirants’ Disqualification Ahead of Tinubu’s Re-Election Bid

Concerned Group Says Last-Minute Exclusion of Aspirants Could Hurt APC’s Electoral Chances in Yobe

A group under the aegis of Concerned Yobe State APC Youth Stakeholders for the Re-Election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed concern over the alleged disqualification of Alhaji Hassan Kafayos from participating in the Yobe Zone C Senatorial Primaries held on May 18, 2026.

The group described the development as a “disturbing pattern” of last-minute disqualification of aspirants within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State, warning that such actions could negatively affect the party’s electoral fortunes ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the stakeholders appealed to the national leadership of the APC to exercise caution in handling internal party matters, stressing that imposing unpopular candidates could create division and weaken support for the party in the state.

The group maintained that the alleged exclusion of aspirants may undermine the re-election campaign of President  Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom they described as their mentor and leader.

According to the statement, the party leadership should avoid actions capable of jeopardizing the unity, stability, and democratic ideals of the APC in Yobe State.

The stakeholders further urged party leaders to embrace fairness, inclusiveness, and due process in order to preserve the future of the APC and strengthen internal democracy.

They emphasized the need for party officials to “harken to reason” and ensure that the interests of the wider party membership prevail over personal or sectional interests.
