The Forum of State Chairmen of the Social Democratic Party has reaffirmed that Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam remains the authentic, legally recognized, and undisputed National Chairman of the party.

In an official statement signed by the Secretary General of the SDP State Chairmen Forum, Danlami Muhammed Musa, the forum stated that Gabam’s leadership is duly recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission and reflected on the commission’s official records and portal.

The forum stressed that the position of the national chairman is not open to speculation, negotiation, or manipulation by any individual or group acting outside the provisions of the law and the party’s constitutional framework.

According to the statement, all aspirants and party faithful were advised to exercise caution, warning that any person who purchases nomination forms from unauthorized individuals parading themselves as representatives of the SDP does so at their own risk.

“There is only one SDP under the legitimate leadership of Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam.

Any parallel structure or claim to authority outside this recognized leadership amounts to impersonation, political fraud, and a direct affront to democratic norms,” the statement declared.

The forum further announced the expulsion of Mr. Labaran Maku, Adamu Ningah and Hon. Gaza Gbefi from the party over alleged anti-party activities and actions considered detrimental to the unity and progress of the SDP.

The statement also called for a thorough investigation into the alleged unlawful diversion of the party’s Prado Jeep reportedly taken away by one of the imposters over a decade ago. It further urged relevant authorities to revisit and examine allegations of financial misconduct allegedly linked to such an individual’s activities within the Arewa Consultative Forum.

Despite the internal disputes, the SDP acknowledged and appreciated efforts by some members of the National Working Committee and other stakeholders who have initiated reconciliation moves aimed at strengthening unity within the party.

The forum maintained that the SDP under the leadership of Shehu Gabam remains open to genuine dialogue anchored on truth, legality, and respect for established leadership.

The statement reaffirmed the party’s commitment to internal democracy, discipline, accountability, and the rule of law while urging members nationwide to remain steadfast and aligned with the recognized leadership of the party.
