NACOS Elects Sadiq SK Zango as National President
Promises Institutional Reforms, Inclusive Leadership, Stronger National Coordination

The Nigeria Association of Computing Students (NACOS) has elected Comr. Sadiq SK Zango as its new National President during the just concluded NACOS National Convention 2026 held in Uyo.
His emergence followed extensive consultations, stakeholder engagements, and a keenly contested electoral process involving delegates, chapter presidents, and student leaders from tertiary institutions across the country.
Observers and stakeholders at the convention described the outcome as a significant turning point in the leadership direction of NACOS, reflecting the growing demand for purposeful, inclusive, and institutionally driven leadership within Nigeria’s student technology community.
In his acceptance speech, Zango described his victory as a collective mandate for unity, reforms, and institutional advancement.
“This mandate goes beyond personal ambition. It represents the collective aspiration of Nigerian computing students for a stronger, more organized, innovative, and nationally respected NACOS,” he stated.
He pledged that his administration would focus on strategic coordination, inclusiveness, stakeholder engagement, and measurable impact aimed at repositioning NACOS as a more influential national student technology body.
The newly elected president outlined key priorities of his administration to include strengthening institutional structures across chapters nationwide, expanding opportunities in technology and digital innovation, promoting inclusive leadership across all geopolitical zones, and deepening partnerships with national and international stakeholders.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the welfare, visibility, and professional development of computing students while positioning NACOS as a stronger voice within Nigeria’s technology and youth development ecosystem.
Stakeholders at the convention noted that his emergence signals a broader shift toward leadership founded on competence, consultation, and national acceptability, particularly at a time when digital innovation continues to shape the future of Nigeria’s youth population.
Before his election, Zango served as NACOS National Vice President for International Affairs and has remained active in student leadership, youth mobilization, and stakeholder coordination.
The convention attracted delegates, technology stakeholders, chapter executives, and student leaders from institutions across Nigeria, further reaffirming NACOS’ position as one of Africa’s largest student technology associations.
