The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging adherents to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, selflessness and obedience to the teachings of Islam.

In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message, Governor Sule recalled that the Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs had declared Tuesday, May 26, 2026 as Arafat Day, while Wednesday, May 27, 2026 would be observed globally as Eid-el-Kabir festival.

The governor congratulated Muslims in Nasarawa State and across the world for witnessing the annual festival, which commemorates the total submission of Prophet Ibrahim to the command of Allah.

According to him, the celebration serves as a reminder for Muslims to live lives anchored on sacrifice, brotherhood, humility and total obedience to Allah’s injunctions.

Governor Sule called on the Muslim faithful to use the occasion to reflect on their relationship with Allah and humanity, stressing the need for peaceful coexistence, tolerance, understanding and love among citizens.

He also urged residents to continue praying for peace, unity and sustainable development in Nigeria, especially during the nation’s transition period.

The governor further appealed to Muslims to remember Nigerian pilgrims performing the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia in their prayers, expressing hope that their acts of worship would attract divine blessings and progress for the country.

While calling on the Ummah to uphold the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Governor Sule emphasized the importance of service to humanity, humility and righteousness in daily living.

On safety during the festive period, the governor advised motorists and other road users to obey traffic regulations, while directing officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps and other security agencies to intensify enforcement measures to ensure a hitch-free celebration.

He wished Muslims across the state a peaceful and successful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying for Allah’s blessings and acceptance of their acts of worship.
