Musa Ahmed Mohammed Not Returning as Accountant General — Ally Dismisses Rumours

A close ally of Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed has dismissed circulating rumours suggesting that the former Nasarawa State Accountant General may return to office following his resignation to pursue the governorship ticket.
Hon. Idris Auta, who refuted the speculation in an interview with our correspondent in Keffi, described the report as false, misleading, and politically motivated.
He stressed that Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed remains fully committed to his governorship ambition and has no intention of going back to his former position in the state civil service.
According to him, the resignation was voluntary and in line with public service regulations, adding that it marked a clear transition into active partisan politics ahead of the 2027 governorship contest in Nasarawa State.
“There is absolutely no truth in the rumour. He will not be returning as Accountant General.
His focus is on offering credible leadership and building support across the state,” Auta stated.
He urged the public to disregard the speculation, noting that it was being circulated by political opponents seeking to distract from the growing acceptance of the aspirant.
Auta further disclosed that the former Accountant General is currently consulting widely with stakeholders across Nasarawa State, strengthening grassroots engagement and articulating his development agenda.
He reaffirmed that the campaign remains focused, structured, and steadily gaining momentum despite attempts at misinformation.
