A former two-term Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Mohammed Al-Makura, who represented the Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011, has officially picked his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for a return to the Green Chamber.
Al-Makura, a seasoned politician and grassroots mobilizer, is making a political comeback bid under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as consultations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
His return to the race has already begun generating renewed interest within the political landscape of Lafia/Obi constituency, where he previously served for two consecutive terms, during which he was credited with facilitating constituency projects and legislative representation focused on infrastructure and youth development.
According to party sources, the former federal lawmaker is expected to engage stakeholders, party leaders, and community representatives in the coming days as part of wider consultations to consolidate support for his ambition.
Political observers note that Al-Makura’s entry into the race could reshape the contest within the constituency, given his previous experience and established political structure across Lafia and Obi local government areas.
Details of his formal declaration and campaign agenda are expected to be made public in due course.
