Airstrike Tragedy: Yobe 2027 Aspirant Kashim Tumsah Rallies Support for Victims
Donations Reach Injured Survivors at Specialist Hospital, Gaidam as Community Leaders Commend Intervention

A 2027 governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kashim Musa Tumsah (MFR), has provided humanitarian support to victims of the recent accidental airstrike in Jilli village, Borko District of Gaidam Local Government Area.
In a press release signed by Abubakar Ahmed, spokesman of the KMT Campaign Organization, the aspirant expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which claimed several lives and left many others injured.
According to the statement, Tumsah swiftly deployed relief materials and financial assistance to cushion the impact on affected families and survivors.
The intervention included bags of rice, cartons of spaghetti, gallons of cooking oil, and cash donations running into hundreds of thousands of naira to cover medical expenses.
The items were delivered to victims receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital, Gaidam, by a delegation led by the Yobe First Movement Zone A Coordinator, Lewami Alhaji Bakura.
The statement noted that the aspirant directed that the cash support be handed directly to injured victims at their hospital beds, while also extending condolences to families of the deceased and prayers for their eternal rest.
Community leaders, including the District Head of Borko, Mainama Zannah, and the Councillor of Futchimiram Ward, Hon. Lawan Zannah, commended the gesture, describing it as timely and compassionate.
They also offered prayers for the aspirant’s political ambition ahead of the 2027 governorship election, expressing hope for his emergence to lead the state.
