2027: Jatau Urges APC Stakeholders to Await Sule’s Directive, Preaches Loyalty and Unity

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has called on stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State to demonstrate loyalty, patience and unity as the party prepares for the 2027 governorship race.
Dr. Jatau urged party members to await the directive of Governor Abdullahi Sule regarding the choice of his preferred successor ahead of the party’s primaries.
The Speaker made the appeal during a Ramadan Iftar and prayer session held at his residence in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of the state.
The Iftar was organised in his honour by the Karu Solidarity Movement for Jatau, a political support group from the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency.
Speaking at the event, the Speaker said Governor Sule has performed creditably in office and therefore deserves the continued support of party members and citizens of the state.
“I want to appeal to our supporters and stakeholders that the direction of Engr. A.A. Sule on who will succeed him should be our collective direction,” he said.
According to him, the governor has provided impactful leadership in the state, stressing that supporting the candidate he endorses would ensure continuity and consolidation of ongoing development initiatives beyond 2027.
Dr. Jatau also expressed appreciation to the organisers of the Ramadan Iftar, describing their gesture as a demonstration of trust and confidence in his leadership.
He congratulated the newly elected APC chairmen of Karu, Keffi and Kokona Local Government Areas, as well as ward chairmen across the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency.
The Speaker, who also serves as the National Deputy Chairman (North) of the Nigeria Conference of Speakers, reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership aimed at strengthening unity, peace and development.
He further commended Governor Sule for ensuring the peaceful conduct of the APC local government and ward congresses across the state.
Jatau urged residents to use the Ramadan period to pray for unity, peace and progress of Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large, while also calling for continued support for the Sule administration.
In their remarks, the Keffi APC Chairman, Mohammed Auwalu Idris; National Coordinator of the Registered Voters Membership Club, Shama Labaran; and APC Chairman of Yara Ward in Keffi LGA, Yakubu Sabo, praised the Speaker for what they described as his quality leadership.
They assured him of their readiness to mobilise grassroots support for his future political aspirations.
Earlier, the founder of Karu Solidarity for Jatau, Emmanuel George, said the Iftar was organised to identify with the Speaker and appreciate his contributions to the constituency.
George also pledged the group’s commitment to mobilising support for Jatau ahead of the 2027 political contest.
The event attracted several APC leaders and stakeholders from the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, including Pastor Benjamin Baka, former Secretary of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), Lawal Moroa, Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, and the Administrator of Agwada Area Administrative Council, among others.
