The wife of the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mrs. Theresa Kaka Danladi, has distributed wrappers and cooking items worth millions of naira to widows, orphans and other less privileged persons across Kokona Local Government Area of the state.
The humanitarian gesture, which took place on Wednesday in Garaku, covered all the electoral wards in Kokona LGA, ensuring that vulnerable groups in every part of the council benefited from the initiative.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Mrs. Danladi explained that the intervention was part of her commitment to supporting the less privileged in society, particularly to enable them celebrate the New Year with joy, dignity and a sense of belonging.
She cautioned beneficiaries against selling the items, urging them to make proper use of the relief materials for their intended purpose. Mrs. Danladi also assured the people of her sustained support for widows, orphans and other vulnerable groups in the local government area.
The Speaker’s wife further appealed to the people to continue to pray for and support her husband, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, and other leaders at all levels, noting that leadership success depends largely on the goodwill and prayers of the people.
She expressed appreciation to the people of Kokona Local Government Area and Nasarawa State at large for the love and support shown to her husband, while wishing them a rewarding and prosperous New Year 2026.
It was gathered that the items were also handed over to councillors from the various electoral wards for onward distribution to beneficiaries. The councillors, in turn, commended Mrs. Danladi for the kind gesture and prayed for God’s abundant reward and continued blessings upon her and her family.
