The Labour Party (LP) has directed all its members and faithful in Imo State to immediately register with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in line with the political realignment of its leader and 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
The directive was contained in a press release issued on December 29, 2025, and signed by the Acting State Chairman of the party, Chief Sir Innocent O. Nwadavid, and the State Organising Secretary, Chief Ahude Mbama.
According to the statement, the decision follows the programme and resolution of Mr. Obi to officially declare for the ADC as his new political platform, which the party said is aimed at actualising his presidential ambition.
The party leadership instructed all zonal chairmen, local government and ward chairmen, as well as Labour Party members and Obidient supporters in the state who believe in Mr. Obi’s leadership, to follow suit by registering with the ADC without delay.
The leadership emphasised that the ADC would serve as the political vehicle for the actualisation of Mr. Obi’s political objectives, urging members to treat the directive with urgency.
