Jubilation has continued to sweep across Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, days after President Ahmed Bola Tinubu inaugurated Hon. Hajiya Halima Ahmadu Jabiru as Federal Commissioner of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) representing the state.

The appointment has been widely celebrated by residents, political stakeholders, women groups and youth organisations, who described it as a major boost to Nasarawa State’s presence in federal governance.

As part of the celebrations, a section of supporters organised special prayer sessions in Lafia, seeking Allah’s guidance, wisdom and protection for the new commissioner as she undertook her national assignment.

Islamic clerics and community leaders urged Hajiya Halima Jabiru to uphold the principles of fairness, equity and justice, in line with the constitutional mandate of the Federal Character Commission.

Speakers at the gatherings expressed confidence in her capacity to serve with integrity and to project the interests of Nasarawa State responsibly at the federal level.

Political leaders also commended President Tinubu for what they described as an inclusive and well-deserved appointment, noting that it reflects recognition of Nasarawa State’s contribution to national development.

Many residents described the development as a source of pride, expressing optimism that her tenure would strengthen public confidence in the federal character principle and promote national unity.
