Former Governor of Nasarawa State and Senator, Umar Tanko Al-Makura, has taken to his official Facebook handle to mourn the death of Godiya, describing him as a political son, trusted friend, and associate whose replacement, he said, will not be easy to find.
In the heartfelt post, Al-Makura lamented the painful loss, noting that the late Godiya exemplified uncommon loyalty, commitment, and faithfulness in political service.
“I have lost a political son; I have lost a trusted political friend and associate whose replacement will not be easy to find. Godiya was a man of uncommon loyalty, commitment, and faithfulness,” Al-Makura wrote.
The former governor further expressed hope that leaders across the nation would be blessed with subordinates as dedicated and dependable as the late Godiya, whom he described as a model of loyalty and service.
Al-Makura extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, loved ones, and all those touched by Godiya’s life and service, praying for God to grant him eternal rest and for the strength to bear what he described as an irreparable loss.
The Facebook tribute has since attracted an outpouring of condolences and tributes from political associates, friends, and supporters, reflecting the impact the late Godiya made during his lifetime.
