Member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, has secured the release of two inmates from the Nasarawa Correctional Centre as part of activities marking her 54th birthday.
The beneficiaries, Mustapha Abubakar from Ungwar Bai, Nasarawa town, and Mrs. Peace Musa from Tammah, regained their freedom after Dr. Danyaro paid their fines, facilitating their immediate release.
Dr. Danyaro, who chairs the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, disclosed this on Friday during her birthday celebration at her residence in GRA, Nasarawa Local Government Area.
“As you can see, officials of the Nasarawa Correctional Centre are here with the inmates,” she said. “I have paid their fines and secured their release. They will now reunite with their families and enjoy the air of freedom.”
The lawmaker admonished the freed inmates to turn a new leaf and serve as positive representatives of their families and the wider society.
“I call on you to be good ambassadors of your families, Nasarawa Central, Nasarawa State, and society at large. Please do not return to what led you to prison,” she urged.
Dr. Danyaro expressed gratitude to God for His protection and guidance over her life, praying for continued good health and prosperity. She also thanked friends, associates, and well-wishers who celebrated with her, asking God to bless them abundantly.
Officials of the Nasarawa Correctional Centre accompanied the inmates to the event, alongside their relatives.
In a touching moment, the celebrant’s mother, Dr. Maryam Danyaro, fed her daughter with the birthday cake and offered prayers for her continued success and excellence in life.
