Vice President Kashim Shettima in Lagos officially launched the Aliko Dangote Foundation Education Scholarship Initiative, a landmark programme designed to expand access to quality education for millions of Nigerian students.
The initiative, which is projected to cost ₦1 trillion over the next ten years, will support learners across multiple levels through a series of targeted educational schemes.
In his remarks, the Vice President urged stakeholders to renew their commitment to building a nation where every child is equipped to reach their highest potential.
He praised Aliko Dangote for his unwavering dedication to philanthropy, noting that “education is a burden carried by those who understand its transformative power.”
Shettima described the scholarship programme as a bold investment in human capital development and a major boost to Nigeria’s long-term socio-economic growth.
